BANGKOK, 20 May 2015 —— Goodyear (Thailand) Public Company Limited recently held its 47th Annual General Meeting in Bangkok, where managing director Finbarr O’Connor presented highlights for 2014 and expressed his optimism of maintaining strong business results throughout 2015.
Goodyear Thailand’s growth in 2014 reflects the company having the necessary expertise and experience to provide its customers with leading tyre products and services, such as its Goodyear Autocare ‘One Stop Shop’ retail programme where tyre buyers receive exceptional value, professionalism and comprehensive tyre and automotive maintenance services.
“Thailand remains a very important market for Goodyear, and we appreciate that having the very best products, people and distribution networks are critical to the success of our business,” said O’Connor.
“We achieved an impressive increase in sales in 2014 and expect to build on the successful implementation of our employee engagement initiatives and the ongoing steady expansion of our Goodyear Autocare outlets throughout the country in 2015. This will ensure continued growth and that consumers can easily access Goodyear’s products and receive the very best in car and tyre maintenance services.”
In 2011, there were 16 Goodyear Autocare retail stores in Thailand. The company now has 55 of the branded outlets in its local network, with further expansions planned in 2015. All Goodyear Autocare stores are independently owned and staffed by local car and tyre experts. They come with the backing of Goodyear Thailand, which provides support on aspects such as exclusive product and pricing on proven tyre brands, marketing and store identification, service guidelines, staff training and business management advice.
“Going forward, we remain committed to achieving our long-term goal of remaining at the forefront of innovative tyre technology, focusing on growth in key market segments, increasing our distribution capacity and creating sustainable economic value,” O’Connor said.

Goodyear Thailand’s aviation business was a significant contributor to the business’ success in 2014.
“Our manufacturing facility in Thailand is one of two Goodyear aviation tyre factories in the world, and one of just five aviation retreading plants. Through this, we service markets and aviation customers all across Asia Pacific,” O’Connor said.
