Initiates of the growth automotive industry in 2015, PT Suzuki Indomobil Motor (SIM) and PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) as a sole agent and distributor for Suzuki motorcycles in Indonesia, had planning in market expansion for scooter globally. A breakthrough strategy has been launched by exporting Suzuki Address to 24 countries in Europe, Japan and Oceania. Official ceremony of this event was held on 27 February 2015 at PT SIM Tambun West Java and attended by Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC) Japan Representatives, Commissioners of Indomobil Group and also from the Ministry of Trade and Ministry of Industry Republic of Indonesia.

SMC Japan as the principle of Suzuki motorcycles has entrusted to Indonesia being the mother plant in producing motorcycles for ASEAN region for a long time. All begins with production volume in domestic market has been a huge number; however Suzuki Indonesia could apply efficiency production and succeeded in reaching competitive cost. Nowadays has been trusted in producing global quality motorcycles both exporting to Europe, Japan, Oceania and ASEAN. SMC Japan has their own strategy in exporting many variants of global motorcycles in order to every each country could fulfill product variant. As a demand, customer in Indonesia has a similar necessity in Europe and Japan which is efficient fuel consumption with huge baggage capacity.

Suzuki Address as the newest efficient scooter become Indonesian first production and the only one fulfill world standard to be exported, has target of distribution 30,000 units (CKDset/CBU) in year of 2015 for 24 countries with 20 % estimation of projection total number export of Suzuki motorcycle in 2015 (150.000).

Suzuki Address for export has 110cc fuel injection engine with qualified material dan perfomance as well in marketed in Indonesia. Difference it is only the usage of tubeless tyre, front lamp and choices of body colour. In supporting spare parts availability, PT SIM also export Suzuki Address components along with distribution countries.

To support the readiness of Suzuki Address after sales, Team Service from PT. SIS has also provided a series of service training to European and ASEAN Suzuki service team. The first training was held in Bangkok, Thailand on 5-6 February 2015 attended by representatives of service team from Thailand, Philippine, Cambodia and Malaysia. The next training was held 18 February 2015 at the Suzuki German Training Centre facilities with participants from 17 countries represented in the European Continent. The mechanics are trained to be able to deal with Suzuki Address periodic maintenance.

PT SIM has succeeded in exporting many variants of Suzuki motorcycles to ASEAN region such as Satria FU150, Shooter FI, Shogun Axelo, Nex FI, Hayate and Lets. Suzuki motorcycles total export in the April 2013 – March 2014 period reached 114,000 units (CKDset/CBU). In future ahead, PT SIM has planning to export motorcycles for 5 years ahead with numbers of projection in 2018 around 200.000 units.

Suzuki Address Overview 

Suzuki Address is a multipurpose scooter, fuel economy (high efficiency, low fuel consumption), has a global quality standard which been launched on 29 October 2014 in Indonesia by PT. SIS addressed to meet the various needs of Indonesian customer. Suzuki Address has a 110cc SOHC engines fuel injection (FI) technology with LEAP (Light, Efficient and Powerful) fuel economy, supported by 5.2 litres fuel capacity which is very handy to travel farther without having to much stop to refuel. Suzuki Address Has a high functionality, thanks to the 20.6-litre luggage compartment which becomes the largest in his class.

Indonesian journalists has proven the low fuel consumption (High efficiency)  and durability of Suzuki Address directly through test ride session which has been held by PT. SIS within various track conditions. Fuel consumption successfully reaches 93.9 km per litre with a total distance of 320 km from Pekanbaru towards Padang within various weather and road conditions, It’s a record!
