Goodyear Thailand honoured with Ford “Preferred Quality Status Award”

BANGKOK, 2 March 2015 —— Goodyear Thailand was recently honoured with a “Ford Q1 Preferred Quality Status Award” from Ford Thailand in recognition of the tyre maker displaying excellence in supplier operations, products and services.

Ford Thailand’s Q1 status represents an endorsement of Goodyear Thailand for being a supplier of the highest quality and greatest reliability, and showing the discipline to ensure success and drive improvement.

“We are very honoured to receive the distinguished recognition from Ford Thailand through supplying them with high quality tyres and service a valued customer,” said Finbarr O’Connor, managing director for Goodyear Thailand.

“This award both recognise and reaffirm the hard work and commitment of all Goodyear Thailand associates to being first with our customers and operationally excellent in everything that we do.

“From our product development engineers, manufacturing facility associate, sales account personnel, those who ship our tyres all over Thailand, and everyone in between, we are always focused on being the best in class when it comes to product supply and quality.”

In order to qualify for the award, Goodyear Thailand was required to undergo a rigorous audit, ensuring that the company met strict automotive tyre quality criteria. Ford applies several standards to rate suppliers that include detailed assessment and validation of management system capabilities to ensure safety, environmental, quality and customer satisfaction.

Goodyear Thailand was established in 1968 and began tyre manufacturing in 1969. In 1994, Goodyear Thailand became a publically-limited company. It now provides original equipment (OE) and replacement tyres for passenger, 4X4/SUV, light truck, commercial truck and aviation customers both for domestic and export markets. Goodyear Thailand also has the only Goodyear facility in Asia Pacific and one of only three plants globally that manufactures new aviation tyres.
