LUTON, U.K., 6 February 2015 —— An amazing 300 school bags crammed with GCSE equipment was distributed to Luton Schools this week. Level Trust, a local charity, teamed up with Vauxhall Motors to assist young students whose families are finding it difficult to provide all the necessary equipment needed for their vital exams.

Recently, Vauxhall Motors had a spring clean and found a treasure trove of stationery items that were surplus to requirements in today’s paperless environment.  These were donated to Level Trust, who assist school aged children.

“When we handed over the items we heard that Level Trust wanted to support the GCSE students for the 2014 – 2015 calendar year,” said Cherie Denton, Vauxhall’s Community Coordinator.

“Vauxhall joined with the Trust to help fund some of the necessary items. Scientific calculators and see-through pencil cases were just two of the crucial items needed to sit exams.”

Jane Malcolm, Level Trust’s Foundation Director, said: “Level Trust needed some help to pack the drawstring bags with oodles of stationery stuff and deliver them.  Vauxhall staff gave voluntary time to support this project and a Vauxhall Vivaro, built in Luton, was used to transport the packs to all the schools.”

Vauxhall’s Head of Retail Marketing, Andrew Curley, was happy to help: “My colleagues here at Vauxhall have children of similar ages to the ones that are getting Level Trust’s help this week.  We were pleased to give what assistance we could to local families.”
