Rory McIlroy is too good to catch in Dubai

Omega Dubai Desert Classic - Day Four

DUBAI, 1 February 2015 —— Rory McIlroy, the No. 1 golfer in the world, has clinched his first win in 2015 – one step closer in his journey to The Masters. The Nike athlete’s dominant victory came at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic on the European Tour, the same place he won his first tournament as a professional in 2009. Having led from day two, his 22-under- par 72-hole total tied the lowest score ever recorded in the history of the tournament, and left his pursuers three shots back.  So far in 2015, McIlroy’s record is nearly perfect, having finished second and first in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, respectively.

“I played very nicely all week and did what I needed to do today to keep my nose in front and be able to win,” said McIlroy.
