BANGKOK, 22 October 2014 —— Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd. recently conducted its Skill Contest 2014 under the concept of “The Power of One”. Having been held for 24 consecutive years, the contest represents the unity of Honda employees who help drive Honda to be the top-of-mind brand among Thai customers while reinforcing Honda’s commitment to developing high-quality and environmentally-friendly products along with developing the company’s personnel to deliver the highest customer satisfaction for sales and service. Nakorn Silpa-archa, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Labour, presided over the opening ceremony for the Skill Contest 2014 at the Honda Training Centre, Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
Chief Operating Officer of Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Pitak Pruittisarikorn said, “Honda has introduced a wide range of automobile products to serve all the lifestyles of our customers in Thailand including environmentally-friendly alternative energy cars. They have always received a warm welcome from Thai customers. Our customers also trust in the service standards of our 200 showrooms and service centres nationwide, whose staff always deliver the best service to all of Honda’s customers. The Honda Skill Contest is one of our activities to enhance and develop staff’s potential in customer service and maintain operating standards with an aim to deliver the highest levels of satisfaction to all of our customers.”
In this year’s contest, Honda arranged a “Safety Driving Instructor” contest, because Honda sees the importance of road safety for Thai society. Honda is now encouraging its dealers to provide additional safe driving and traffic discipline training to customers.
Recently, a Safety Driving Instructor from Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd. won the “15th Safety Japan Instructors Competition”, which is hosted by Honda Motor Co., Ltd. in Japan. The competition is to improve skills and knowledge about giving instructions for instructors from all over the world to help them teach driving skills, including training in safety theory and safe driving techniques, to the same standard as driving instructors in Japan.
The Honda Skill Contest is divided into ten categories. This year, 132 qualified staff out of more than 2,000 potential participants from Honda dealers throughout the country joined the contest. The winners in each category are:
