JAKARTA, 3 October 2014 ——- Chevrolet Indonesia’s sales momentum continued in September 2014. Chevrolet set a sales record in September 2014 with 780 cars sold, up 17% from the previous month. The MPV model is still the backbone for Chevrolet sales with strong demand for Spin and Spin Activ.
“We saw huge waves of interest in our products at the Indonesia International Motor Show — from the Orlando to the Spin Activ to the Captiva. All products sold really well,” said GM Indonesia President Director, Michael Dunne. “Our goal is to build ever greater awareness of our products and our Chevy brand through test drives and exhibitions. We can see that as people get first-hand experience driving and riding in our Chevy products, they’re so ready to buy them.”
During the 11-day event, Chevrolet has successfully recorded a total order of 628 units. MPVs and SUVs are still popular amongst Indonesian, as it offers plenty of room and agility that suits the needs of most Indonesian commuters. The Chevrolet Spin remains the top-ordered product with 381 units, followed by the newly launched New Captiva that booked 141 orders.

The boost of car sales in IIMS 2014 was mainly driven by the programme of “Buy Now, Pay Next Year”. This programme allowed customer to have a flexibility in owning Chevy car. In addition to this promotion, Chevrolet continuously introduced campaigns its Complete Care programme. A special designed after sales programme for customers that offers a free service and free spare part for two years.
In IIMS 2014, Chevrolet brought up safety as the main theme. To reinforce this message, Chevrolet has a range of safety activities on its stand including “Invisible Movie” that allowed visitors to see Chevrolet safety stories through special glasses, mini talkshow of “5 Minutes Safe Makeup Time in a Car” and “Car Seat: Bothersome or Important?” dedicated for urban women, and the “Gran Turismo Simulator” that tested visitors’ driving ability and attention to safety.
“We are glad to host more than 67,000 visitors who have enjoyed our booth at IIMS 2014. It really exceeds our expectation. Corvette Stingray definitely is a shining star during the motor show. The appearance of this legendary American sports car satisfies Indonesian who have been waiting for a long time,” said Michael.
