BANGKOK, 4 September 2014 —— Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd., organiSed a ceremony to grant funds for selected inventions and a workshop entitled “Driving the Power of Kids’ Thinking and Their Creative Inventions Krahuem Lok” under the Honda Super Idea Contest 2014 for 24 students in primary grades one to six, whose inventions were selected for the final round. The young finalists will receive the funds to develop models of their creative inventions and present them in the innovative, unique and challenging format of the Super Idea Kids Krahuem Lok TV programme that will air on the WorkPoint TV channel for the first time in Thailand. The winners will be awarded the HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s plaques along with the prize of participating in the “Honda Super Idea Kids” camp where they can exchange creative ideas with Japanese youths at the Honda Motors head office in Japan.
The objective of the Honda Super Idea Contest is to boost the development of Thai children’s creative potential. It is an initiative that Honda is very proud of and has continued for ten consecutive years. Throughout the period, there have been 326,870 entries submitted by over 2,000 schools. This year, 10,539 entries from across the nation were submitted to the programme. Honda expects that the initiative will ignite creative and imaginative thinking and scientific learning among Thai youngsters. The company is committed to undertaking the programme on a continual basis to encourage Thai children to follow their dreams with courage.
This year, a major redesigning of the programme has been undertaken for the first time. Twenty-four finalists will have an exclusive opportunity to present their engaging ideas on the Super Idea Kids Krahuem Lok TV programme that will air on the WorkPoint Digital TV channel for the first time in Thailand. Follow and support the participating youngsters on the TV programme that will be broadcast on Sundays at 17.00 – 17.30 Hours between 5 October and 28 December 2014.
About the Honda Super Idea Contest
The Honda Super Idea Contest was first introduced to Thailand in 2005. The programme originated from the Honda Kids’ Idea Contest run by Honda Motor in Japan. The programme objective is to cultivate creativity and imagination among children and encourage them to love challenges and dare to make their dreams come true. It welcomes Thai students in primary school grades nationwide to submit their ideas for creative, fun and socially-conscious inventions for the future to win a HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn plaque and an educational and cultural exchange programme in Japan. The programme is now in its tenth year.
