– Two kids from Rumah Cemara, Firgi and Syifa, has chosen as the mascot for Man Utd’s first match in English Premier League in season 2014/2015;

BANDUNG, 2 September 2014 —-– Today’s friendly match between Chevrolet team and Rumah Cemara team at Bawet pitch remarks the welcoming event of two Indonesian kids, Firgi and Syifa, from their remarkable trip to Old Trafford, the historical stadium of Manchester United FC.
Firgi and Syifa together with other 11 kids, age 10-13 years old, from seven countries were given a chance to become a mascot for the first match of Manchester United in English Premier League 2014/2015 season, on 16 August.
“This activity shows that Chevrolet is beyond just an automotive brand. Chevrolet is taking an important part in youth development through many positive activities. With football, Chevrolet shows its strong support to give the remarkable moment for everyone to experience and share to other people,” said Meilita Iskandar, the Director of Marketing, General Motors Indonesia.
Firgi and Syifa are the kids from a tough neighbourhood in Bawet village, Bandung. Playing football is a tool for them to improve themselves and achieve their dreams.
In addition of being the mascot of the game, both kids were also surprised when players of Manchester United entering the field by wearing jersey with the mascot name. Firgi’s name was worn by Juan Mata while Syifa’s was worn by Ander Herrera. During their visit to Manchester on 14-18 August 2014, both kids enjoyed various activities such as visiting Manchester United’s training centre and received training from the coaches of Manchester United.
This activity was a part of global campaign “What Do You #PlayFor?” which initiated by Chevrolet as the main sponsor of Manchester United. Through this cooperation with Manchester United, Chevrolet wants to spread the spirit of play and brings footballs closer to all people.
