BANGKOK, Thailand —— Imagine driving worry-free for as long as you own your car. Thanks to Chevrolet, that dream has now become a reality for Thai car buyers.
For a limited time only, Chevrolet Sales Thailand is offering the country’s first-ever “6+6” plan. That means warranty protection and roadside assistance for six years. In addition, owners will receive six years of free labour costs for maintenance.
The plan covers new purchases of Chevrolet’s entire lineup, including the Captiva and Trailblazer SUVs, the Colorado pick-up truck, the Spin MPV, and the Sonic and Cruze passenger cars, between now and 31 May 2014.
“This extraordinary offer demonstrates our complete confidence in the quality, reliability and durability of our vehicles,” said Marcos Purty, managing director of GM Thailand. “When you consider that most Thais own their cars for only five years, it is fair to say those who buy a new Chevrolet now will enjoy worry-free driving for as long as they own their car, with lower cost of ownership.”
Chevrolet offers the most up-to-date vehicle portfolio in the market. The Sonic, Cruze, Captiva, Colorado and Trailblazer are built by a highly skilled Thai workforce at General Motors’ world-class Rayong Assembly Plant. The Trailblazer and Colorado are equipped with engines and transmissions made at Rayong’s state-of-the-art powertrain facility.
The 6+6 programme’s warranty protection extends Chevrolet’s standard warranty programme. The six-year warranty consists of two separate warranty programmes. The first three-year warranty applies for 100,000 km or three years. After the first three years or based on actual mileage, the additional 40,000-km or three-year warranty starts. This second warranty extends from the fourth year or immediately after mileage reaches 100,000 km, and extends for another three years or 40,000km.
The programme also provides high-quality replacement parts, and covers labour costs for maintenance at Chevrolet service centres for the same amount of time or mileage. Customers only have to cover the costs of consumable parts and replacement fluids such as engine oil and transmission fluid.
The programme’s warranty protection provides replacement of parts that experience a mechanical and/or electronic breakdown free of charge. They include:
– Automatic and manual transmission
– Front and rear drivetrain
– 4WD system
– Engine cooling system
– Electronic system
– Steering system
– Front and rear suspension system (not including consumable parts)
– Brake system (not including consumable parts)
– Air-conditioning system
– Fuel injection and emission control system
– Fuel system (diesel and petrol)
– Safety system
– Advanced technology components
If the owner sells his or her Chevrolet before the end of six years or 140,000 km, the 6+6 programme transfers to the new owner for the remaining period of time or mileage. Besides stress-free vehicle ownership, this also potentially increases the resale value of the vehicle and lowers the cost of ownership.
In addition to warranty protection, 6+6 provides six years of 24-hour emergency roadside assistance in the unlikely event of a breakdown. This includes towing to the nearest Chevrolet service centre for a free technical inspection and medical assistance to the driver if needed. The roadside plan also includes up to 10 litres of fuel one time per year if the owner has simply run out of fuel before reaching his or her destination.
“The vast majority of our customers never need roadside assistance because our vehicles are extremely reliable,” Purty said. “With the 6+6 programme, our customers will never have to worry even if they do experience a problem. They can rely on Chevrolet.”
This is not the first time that Chevrolet has offered its customers a free after-sales service programme. In 2013, Chevrolet launched a five-year free-maintenance campaign for the Cruze. The Five-Years Worry-Free campaign enabled owners of new Cruzes to completely enjoy their cars without any concerns for maintenance costs for the first five years or 100,000 km.
Founded in 1911 in Detroit, Chevrolet is now one of the world’s largest car brands, doing business in more than 140 countries and selling more than 4.9 million cars and trucks a year. Chevrolet provides customers with fuel-efficient vehicles that feature spirited performance, expressive design, and high quality.
