Manila, Philippines, 7 March 2014 —-– Global company, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. takes the lead of managing the automotive brand in the Philippines by introducing NISSAN PHILIPPINES, INC. as its national sales company. This development was formalised and announced late last year.

With this new structure, the company remains to recognise Nissan Motor Philippines, Inc. (NMPI) and Universal Motors Corporation (UMC) as their important partners in the Philippines, as both will continue to assemble Nissan vehicles for the Filipino market. As one cohesive entity, all will work together to successfully achieve Nissan’s global standards. 

This year, Nissan sets its sights on a bigger market share. Recognising immense potential in the Philippines and a concomitant need for a stronger presence in the country, the fundamental role of Nissan Philippines, Inc. (NPI) will be to strengthen the branding, marketing and sales strategy, and dealer operations. Likewise, NPI intends to reinforce brand and sales power by broadening the product lineup and intensifying sales and services across the nation.

Nissan Philippines, Inc. is headed by its President and Managing Director, Kenji Naito who has 29 years experience with Nissan and has held key positions in various markets including Japan, South Africa, New Zealand and Thailand. Prior to his post in the Philippines, Naito served as CEO of Nissan Korea Co., Ltd in Seoul Korea.

New beginning. Two new models.

With big plans for the future in sight, Nissan Philippines, Inc. moves forward by introducing two new models, the Nissan Sylphy and Nissan Altima in its grand launch on 7th of March 2014 at Blue Leaf Filipinas. The introduction of the new Nissan Sylphy and new Nissan Altima signals the beginning of more Nissan products to arrive in the Philippine market.

A new level of innovation to the midsize executive sedan segment with the arrival of their latest flagship: the new Nissan Altima. Built at Nissan’s facilities in the United States of America, the introduction of the new Altima is set to raise the bar and elevate customers’ expectations from a midsize 4-door premium sedan when it comes to styling, unequalled comfort, dynamic performance, fuel efficiency, innovative features and vehicle safety. 

The arrival of the new Nissan Altima marks Nissan Philippines, Inc.’s class-leading entry into the highly competitive midsize sedan category as the brand’s flagship premium sedan. The new Nissan Altima is truly the premium executive car that owners want to drive themselves.

An extensive colour palette awaits customers of the new Nissan Altima, as Nissan Philippines, Inc. will be offering their flagship sedan in Brilliant Silver, Black Obsidian, Pearl White and Storm Blue. The new Nissan Altima is now available at dealers for the MSRP of PhP 1,650,000 for the new Altima 2.5L SV CVT and PhP 2,030,000 for the new Altima 3.5L SL CVT.

The Sylphy is one of Nissan’s global core models and is part of the brand’s increased presence in the Philippine market. The new global sedan is sold in more than 120 markets worldwide including USA, Japan, China, and Thailand. The new Nissan Sylphy features an elegant and sophisticated design with class-leading comfort. It will be powered by a 1.8L MRA8DE and 1.6L HR160E engine matched with a new-generation Nissan Xtronic® CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) with sub- planetary gear to deliver powerful and smooth driving. The new Nissan Sylphy 1.6L HR160E also comes in Manual Transmission. The all-new Nissan Sylphy will be available in Aspen White, Ebony, Deep Iris Gray, Brilliant Silver, Grayish Bronze colors. MSRP is at PhP812,000 for the Base 1.6L MT; PhP 915,000 for the 1.6L Upper CVT; and PhP 998,000 1.8L Upper CVT.
