Jeep Grand Cherokee awarded the title of ‘Auto Lider 2013’

WARSAW, Poland, 10 February 2014  —— Jeep® Grand Cherokee, the most awarded SUV ever and the model that set the standard within the premium Sport-Utility Vehicle category, confirms its winning ways and adds a new international recognition to its already extraordinary list of accolades.

This is the prestigious ‘Auto Lider 2013’ title in the ‘Full-size SUV and Off-road vehicle’ category and it was awarded to the Grand Cherokee by the Polish readers of the ‘Motor’ weekly and ‘Auto Moto’ monthly magazines. In detail, topping the list of the 13 finalists in the category, the flagship Grand Cherokee took 17% of the votes, ahead of the Toyota Land Cruiser 150 (13.4%) and Porsche Cayenne (11.9%).

The ‘Auto Lider 2013’ competition is one of the most highly esteemed awards in the automotive sector in Poland. In addition, it is also one of the most keenly followed, as the more than 160,000 votes collected in this edition through the web and SMSs demonstrate.

The recognition further consolidates Jeep Grand Cherokee’s position in the premium Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) segment in Poland. As a matter of fact, in 2013 it was the top selling SUV on the local market, with more than 660 units sold and a 31% sales increase in comparison to 2012, ahead of competitors such as BMW X5 and Mercedes ML. This excellent result certainly contributed to the total sales of the Jeep brand in Poland, that in 2013 topped 1,100 registrations, with a 9.2% increase over 2012.

Introduced in Poland in spring 2013, the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee is available in the Limited, Overland and SRT trim levels as well as in the exclusive Summit top of the range model. Every single Grand Cherokee trim level features a premium look and is readily recognisable at a glance. In the same way, the interior of the Jeep flagship stands out in terms of technological content and quality of the finishes.

Four engine options are offered: the efficient 3.0-litre turbo, direct-injection V-6 Common-rail diesel engine fitted with MultiJet II technology and the 3.6-litre V-6 Pentastar, 5.7-litre V-8 (available only on the Overland and Summit models) and 6.4-litre V-8 HEMI (fitted only on the SRT model) petrol engines.
